The coin’s reverse features a coloured snow covered house set against a backdrop of snowflakes falling from the night sky. A silhouette of Santa Claus and his sleigh with four reindeer is reflected across the moon as they fly through the sky. The inscription ‘Season’s Greetings’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also features in the design.
The obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2014 year-date.
The uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card that fits inside a similarly illustrated envelope with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
Two festive stamp designs are featured on the envelope packaging. Both of these official Australia Post 65 cent stamps are postmarked for the first day of issue. The envelope is endorsed with Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity and official number.
