During her record-breaking reign of over seventy years, Elizabeth II became one of the most memorable monarchs in British history. Five iconic portraits of the Queen appeared on British coins during this period. Our "Queen's Portrait Collection" delves into these portraits and the stories behind their creation. On the reverse of each coin in the collection, these portraits were reproduced by Gordon Summers, the chief engraver at the Royal Mint.
